M and I recently went on our pre-honeymoon trip to Switzerland, where we rediscovered the best sights of Switzerland. Even though we visited the country earlier in March, this most recent trip brought us to many places that we missed the first time around.

On our way to Switzerland, we’ve got a chance to take SWISS’s direct flight from Singapore to Zürich in their business class product. This flight is operated on a B777-300ER plane. This is our full experience on the flight.
This flight is sponsored by Switzerland Tourism and SWISS; however, all opinions expressed are entirely our own.

Lounge Access
As the flight departs from Changi Airport’s Terminal 2, passengers on SWISS premium cabins can access Singapore Airlines’s SilverKris Lounge.
If you have time before your flight, we recommend going to the SilverKris Lounge in Terminal 3. It has an expansive space and offers a large variety of food and beverages.

On arrival at Zürich International Airport, business class passengers can also visit the SWISS Arrival Lounge. A review of the lounge will be published at a later date.
Seat Map

SWISS offers 62 business class seats on its B777-300ER aircraft. They are in alternating configurations, with even rows having a 1-2-2 configuration and odd rows having a 2-2-1 configuration.
Most seats have direct aisle access, except those by the window of the 2-seat configuration.
For solo travellers, there are single seats located by the window in alternating rows. These tend to be more favourable as they offer more privacy and grant you convenient aisle access throughout the flight. However, SWISS do charge additional seat selection fees for the single seats as “extra space” cabins.
Check-in for Swiss Business Class
Check-in for SWISS is done in the newly renovated Changi Airport Terminal 2.

There are separate lines for Business Class and First Class passengers. The lines were short when we were there and we barely waited for our turn to check-in.

At boarding, business class and economy class passengers board from the same air bridge while first-class passengers board from the front of the plane.
This is fine as business class passengers have an earlier boarding number and do not have to wait long on the bridge.

Seats in the SWISS B777-300ER Business Class
The business class seats in the B777-300ER flight measure 60″ in pitch, 79″ in bed length and 20.5″ in width. This is an adequate seat measurement for most travellers with an average build.

Every seat comes with a set of noise-cancelling headphones for use with the in-flight entertainment system.

The amenity kit from SWISS truly blew us away. It came in a high-quality Victorinox steel case, with various products that will make the long flight a lot more comfortable.

In the amenity kit, there was a toothbrush set, lip balm, eye mask, ear plugs and long socks.

All seat controls are electronic and easily accessible. We prefer electronic seat controls to manual ones as they are more reliable and do not require physical strength to manoeuvre.

The full lie-down bed extends into the nook under the IFE system. As someone who’s 175 cm tall, I had no trouble fully extending my legs in the bed configuration.
The seat itself was soft, which makes for a very comfortable bed in this configuration. As a difficult sleeper, I was able to get a solid 5-6 hour sleep on this flight which is a positive signal!

In-flight Entertainment
The in-flight entertainment system offers a wide variety of content with the latest movies and TV shows.

One noticeable difference from other airlines was that the IFE was disabled the whole time while the plane was on the ground. This could be annoying for passengers if there were any traffic or delays on the tarmac. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case for our flight as we took off right on time.

Food
Food and beverages are some of the most important aspects of a flight experience for us. In addition to the seats, it is one of the largest differentiators between an economy class and business class experience.
As the flight was 12 hours 35 minutes long, we were served 2 full meals in total.

Dinner
For dinner, it was served shortly after take off. It’s a 3-course meal with a starter, mains and ends off with a plate of dessert.
We were given 3 choices each for the starters and the mains, for which the crew will get your preferences at the start of the flight.
My choices for dinner were the smoked chicken breast for starters and cod with lemon and dill cream sauce for the mains. M, on the other hand, got the tomato tartare for starters and the Veal tenderloin for her mains.

In addition to food choices, passengers have a wide variety of beverages to choose from. The wine list is comprehensive, with local and international options available to choose from.

After our meal, a crew member came around with a basket of Lindt chocolate! This is a popular treat from SWISS. We could take as many chocolates as we wanted.

Breakfast
The crew started the breakfast service 2 hours before our arrival in Zürich.

At the beginning of the flight, we were given the menu and a sheet of paper to fill up our food selections for breakfast. The list was extensive and we could choose anything we wanted from the menu!
For the main selection, I got the Asian breakfast while M got the Swiss breakfast.

The Swiss breakfast was primarily charcuterie, with raw meats and cheeses.

The Asian breakfast, on the other hand, was a bowl of wanton mee. I really enjoyed the piece of wanton and chicken, although I wished they’d given more pieces of it.

To end the meal service, the crew gave us a cup of Yoghurt and a piece of SWISS chocolate. Like a true Swiss experience, there were no shortages of chocolates throughout the flight.

Bathroom
There are separate bathrooms reserved for business class passengers. They are standard bathrooms that you’ll find in planes, similar to those that you’ll find in economy class.
Because of fewer passenger use, they are a lot cleaner and better maintained throughout the flight.

WiFi Onboard
Regardless of the class of travel, all passengers on SWISS flights can access a free WiFi connection for chat and messaging services throughout the flight.
If you need more extensive Wifi access, there are 2 packages available for purchase which offer unlimited data usage.
- Wi-Fi 4 Hours: Provides 4 hours of access for CHF 25 (~$29)
- Wi-Fi Premium: Offers full-flight access for CHF 35 (~$40)
For First Class passengers and SWISS HON Circle Members, you’ll get complimentary access to the Wi-Fi Premium package on all SWISS flights.
We did not get the WiFi packages during our flight, so we couldn’t speak to the speed or quality of it. However, the chat and messaging service alone was very reliable throughout the entire duration of the flight.
Final Thoughts
SWISS offers daily direct flights from Singapore to Zürich, making it very convenient for passengers looking to visit Switzerland. As it was our first-ever flight with SWISS, we were pleasantly delighted with our entire experience onboard.
The hospitality of the crew, from the time of boarding to deboarding, was spectacular. Our needs were always taken care of, and we felt comfortable throughout the duration of the flight.
The meals were also much better than what I had expected. As someone who doesn’t eat cheese and dairy, I was initially afraid that there wouldn’t be many options for me during the flight. That, fortunately, wasn’t the case. Our Singaporean pallets have plenty of options, so rest assured you’ll get your Asian fix onboard SWISS like I did.
