What is the Spontaneous Escapes?
Spontaneous Escapes is a promotion by Singapore Airlines where they offer award redemption rates at 30% off the standard Saver award tickets to selected destinations. The flights must be flown the following month, and therefore spontaneous!
This is usually the best opportunity to make your hard-earned KrisFlyer miles go even further. You can often find amazing deals assuming you can take off on a moment’s notice (or a month).
For the spontaneous escapes promotion this month, you must book your ticket by 30th September 2024 and fly between 1st October 2024 and 31st October 2024.
Good Deals for October 2024
These are some of our top picks for the month. We’ll generally try to go for longer business-class flights as compared to short economy-class flights when redeeming our miles to fully maximise their value.
We also generally tend to avoid redeeming for premium economy seats as the reduction in experience is usually not worth the marginal reduction in miles needed for redemption. However, there can be the occasional route which makes sense redeeming for.
This list of cities on offer this month is very similar to that of last month. They mostly involve cities in the ANZ (Australia, New Zealand) region. Most of these routes are also only available 1-way, so it might be hard to plan for a full trip with just the Spontaneous Escapes redemptions alone.

How to Book a Spontaneous Escapes Rate?
- You can only book the rate through Singapore Airlines’ Mobile App or official website.
- Log in to your KrisFlyer account and check the Redeem flights box when searching for your flight.
- Select the desired flight route, depart date and class of service.
4. If a route is available on Spontaneous Escapes, it will show up as a special Promo From… rate.
5. Select that and go through the standard booking process.
What Card to Use For Fees?
When redeeming award flights, you’ll usually have to pay a small fee for taxes and tariffs. Although these typically do not go for more than S$100 for Singapore Airlines, it’ll still be good if we can optimise our spending here.

- All fares booked through the Spontaneous Escapes Rate are strictly non-changeable and cancellable unless cancelled by Singapore Airlines themselves. You’ll have to forfeit your ticket should you not be able to fly on the booked flight.
- You can only book the rates through Singapore Airlines’ Mobile App or website.
- You’ll need to have the full amount of miles needed in your KrisFlyer account at the time of booking. You cannot book part of the tickets with cash and part of it with miles.
