Singapore Airlines Global Redemption Sale

25% off Redemptions on All Singapore Airlines Economy Flights

Singapore Airlines is offering 25% off all Economy flight redemptions on its network. This is a great deal, especially to destinations such as New Zealand and Africa!

Singapore Airlines just announced its first Krisflyer Global Redemption Sale, offering 25% off Economy Saver award tickets for all destinations! In addition, the airline is also offering the same 25% discount for Premium Economy redemptions on select flights between Singapore and the USA.

This promotion is happening from 16 October 2023 to 22 October 2023 and for travel between 1 January 2024 to 31 July 2024.

Replaced Spontaneous Escapes for the Month

For many travel hackers, this is a slight departure from the monthly Spontaneous Escapes promotion where reward rates usually get a 30% discount. The most significant difference is that this promotion is only limited to economy flights. There are no discounts for business-class redemptions.

On top of that, Spontaneous Escapes are typically for flights departing the following month from the promotion dates. The Global Redemption Sale, on the other hand, is meant for flights departing the next year (2024) instead.

There is a strict non-cancellation and non-refundable policy for this promotion. Travellers will have to work with a longer period of uncertainty if anything happens that might disrupt their travel.

Sweet Spots

Despite the lack of business-class redemptions, there are still some great redemptions to be made. There is usually better award availability on Economy Class cabins, so you can typically redeem for more passengers each flight.

The chosen flights usually have relatively high cash prices, and the promotional redemption rates make them an incredible deal.

Conclusion

The KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale is a different take from Singapore Airlines for the month of October 2023. Many will lament the fact that there are no business-class seats on promotion.

However, if we look at the silver lining here, there are several great redemptions that come up if you have been looking at travelling to more exotic locations on Singapore Airline’s network. These routes typically have high cash prices even for their economy seats.

In addition, award availability is almost a non-issue here as compared to typical award redemption promotions. There are even wide open availabilities in popular destinations like Japan and Europe.

Taking an overall view of the promotion, you should be able to easily squeeze out more than 2 to 3 cents per mile on most redemptions here, which in my opinion, is a great deal!
