The SG60 special edition of KrisFlyer’s Spontaneous Escapes has just been released! After first teasing it since April 2025, the long awaited promotion is finally here!
In this edition of Spontaneous Escapes, you can save up to 40% on your award redemptions with Singapore Airlines!
What is the Spontaneous Escapes?
Spontaneous Escapes is a promotion by Singapore Airlines offering award redemption rates of 30% off the standard Saver award tickets to selected destinations. The flights must be taken the following month, making it truly spontaneous! For this month, standard Saver award tickets are 40% off.
This is usually the best opportunity to make your hard-earned KrisFlyer miles go even further. You can often find amazing deals, assuming you can take off on a moment’s notice (or a month).
For the spontaneous escapes promotion this month, you have 60 hours from 15 August 12:00 to 17 August 23:59 to book your tickets at 40% off and fly between 1st September 2025 and 30th September 2025.
From 18 August 00:00 to 31 August 23:59, you’ll get the standard 30% off saver award rates.
Good Deals for September 2025
These are some of our top picks for the month. We’ll generally try to go for longer business-class flights as compared to short economy-class flights when redeeming our miles to fully maximise their value.
There is a significant difference in comfort and overall experience between a Business Class ticket and a Premium Economy ticket. Some additional benefits of a Business Class ticket include priority check-in, lounge access, and a fully lie-flat bed. Therefore, we always recommend redeeming your miles for a Business Class ticket rather than a Premium Economy ticket for better value.
For the upcoming month, it’s one of the most disappointing sets of routes when it comes to business class selections. Most of the available routes are to Southeast Asian countries. In addition, there’s a huge omission of the usual destinations in China and India.
If you’re willing to choose lower cabin classes, you’ll find a somewhat better selection of routes. There are even routes available for popular destinations, such as Tokyo, Europe, and the USA. However, when you compare the cash prices of the flight tickets to the redemption options (even with promotions), it’s not as appealing as business class flights.
These are some of the routes that caught our attention.

What Card to Use For Fees?
When redeeming award flights, you’ll usually have to pay a small fee for taxes and tariffs. Although these typically do not go for more than S$100 for Singapore Airlines, it’ll still be good if we can optimise our spending here.
Below are some of our favourite credit cards to use to pay for taxes and fees when redeeming award flights on Singapore Airlines.
