A little over 3 months ago, we had the wedding of our lives. After knowing each other for more than 6 years, M and I finally tied the knot in Singapore in the presence of our family and friends.
Even though we’ve travelled a lot, we always knew that we wanted to have our wedding in Singapore. This is where our closest families are and where we want to build our home in the future.
Wedding planning can be complicated and time-consuming. For us, one of the most difficult parts was deciding which vendors to engage with. We had to do a lot of research to be sure that we were getting the best people to help us for our big day.
In this post, we’ll share the vendors we engaged which made our wedding possible.
Banquet – JW Marriott South Beach
After touring a couple of wedding venues in Singapore, we’ve decided on the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
Apart from the beautiful ballroom, we liked the fact that the 3-story venue is in an isolated building away from the main hotel. There’s a lot of privacy during the event and a lot of thought went into the design of the space – including a cocktail reception area, solemnization area, and a private bridal changing room within walking distance from the main ballroom.
Before the wedding, the coordinators at JW Marriott South Beach were incredibly helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for our big day, including program flow and various templates which made planning for the wedding a lot easier for us.
Beyond that, all of the key elements were taken care of, from the stunning ballroom flowers and table arrangements to the thoughtful door gifts for guests and wedding invitations. During the wedding, they were extremely proactive and made sure we were well taken care of and only had to enjoy the moment.
Photography – A Merry Mayhem
We first met Michael from A Merry Mayhem at a friend’s wedding where M was a bridesmaid. From there, we chatted with Michael and really enjoyed his presence and company.
Before the wedding, we met him both online and offline to discuss the details of the wedding and the shots we wanted. He also gave us a lot of valuable feedback from his vast experiences that helped us with our wedding planning.
Apart from taking beautiful photos, what makes Michael stand out for us is how he made us feel during photoshoots. Despite me being someone who is awkward in front of cameras, Michael made me feel very comfortable and enjoyed the photoshoots we’ve had.

Styling and Decorations – Love Curates
At the introduction of our photographer, we connected with Quan Mei from Love Curates to style our wedding venue to make it even more stunning, personal and unique.
Before the wedding, we met Quan Mei online to share our journey and milestones as a couple. She noted the details and came up with the theme and concept. She was very communicative during the entire process.
We were glad we went with Love Curate’s styling and conceptualisation service. We did not have to worry about the design and logistics. The decorations were beautifully set up when we arrived and we received many compliments about the decor from our guests.

Videography – Sense Gallery
After doing plenty of prior research, we went with Sense Gallery for our Actual Day Videography. We liked the consistent quality and style of wedding videos produced. We also had friends who gave raving reviews of them.
On the actual day, Matt from Sense Gallery knew exactly what he needed. He directed us and our parents to capture the important moments. When we watched the morning highlights video at the wedding, we were truly amazed by the incredible quality, considering how quickly it was put together.
We received the same-day edit the day after the wedding. 8 weeks after the wedding, he hand-delivered to us the full documentary video placed in a beautiful custom wooden box.

Pre-Wedding Flowers – Floral Magic
We ordered a Bridal-To-Go bouquet from Floral Magic for our Pre Wedding Shoot as we wanted a fuss-free option. The ordering process through their website was straightforward and efficient, with little to no back and forth, which was a huge plus for us as we were looking for a no-hassle experience amidst the travelling.
The bouquet itself was lovely. Overall, if you’re after convenience, Floral Magic is a solid option, but do manage your expectations regarding the size of the bouquet.

Bridal Flowers – Inashea Studio
We got our actual day flowers from Inashea Studio which included a Bridal Bouquet and 5 Boutonnieres. Prior to picking up the flowers, we mentioned our floral preferences and sent a mood board to them in the hope that the bouquet would better fit our overall wedding theme.
When we picked up the flowers before the wedding, we were very pleased with the creation. It was a generous amount of flowers, the colour palette was exactly what we wished for and the arrangement was beautifully done. They lent us a vase with flower food for the bouquet to last longer. The boutonnieres were also well-packed and labelled.

Pre-Wedding Makeup – PowderPuffed
We engaged Phoebe from PowderPuffed for M’s Pre-Wedding Shoot makeup. PowderPuffed was very accommodating when we had to reschedule at the last minute as I was developing an eye infection before the shoot.
The makeup itself lasted throughout the 4-hour shoot without needing any touch-ups. However, the strong beach wind did take a toll on M’s hair towards the end of our shoot. Despite that, we are still pleased with the service.

Styled Shoot Makeup – Makeup by Susan Liew
After engaging A Merry Mayhem for our Pre Wedding Shoot, we collaborated with them on a styled shoot. They put together a team and Susan Liew was the makeup artist for the styled shoot.
The make-up artist followed us throughout the shoot and was extremely proactive. It made such a huge difference having the makeup artist around for touch-ups, as she paid attention to the smallest details, making sure we shone in every photo. Susan’s personality is very personable and we felt comfortable. We would have engaged her service if she was still available on our wedding day.

Actual Day Makeup – Kwangs Makeup
We engaged Kwang from Kwangs Makeup after a short trial at the JW Marriott Wedding Show more than a year before our wedding. Kwang is a highly skilled makeup artist who uses top-quality products, ensuring the makeup feels comfortable throughout the day.
While the customer service representative was slightly less professional compared to other vendors we encountered, Kwang herself is extremely professional and skilled. Her make up and hairstyling skill was M’s top choice. The make-up contouring was done naturally and the hairstyling was secure and beautiful, most importantly, it survived all her happy tears.

Conclusion
We’ve had nothing but praise for the Singapore vendors that we’ve worked with. Without them, we wouldn’t have the wedding that we’ve always dreamed of.
In addition to our wonderful local partners, we also worked with some incredible international vendors. M’s bridal dress and veil was from Jenny Yoo in New York, our wedding bands were from Catbird, also in New York, and my suit was from Newman Exclusive in Bangkok.
