What is the Spontaneous Escapes?
Spontaneous Escapes is a promotion by Singapore Airlines that offers award redemption rates of 30% off the standard Saver award tickets to selected destinations. The flights must be flown the following month, and therefore spontaneous!
This is usually the best opportunity to make your hard-earned KrisFlyer miles go even further. You can often find amazing deals, assuming you can take off on a moment’s notice (or a month).
For the spontaneous escapes promotion this month, you must book your ticket by 30th June 2025 and fly between 1st July 2025 and 31st July 2025.

These are some of our top picks for the month. We’ll generally try to go for longer business-class flights as compared to short economy-class flights when redeeming our miles to fully maximise their value.
There is a significant difference in comfort and overall experience between a Business Class ticket and a Premium Economy ticket. Some additional benefits of a Business Class ticket include priority check-in, lounge access, and a fully lie-flat bed. Therefore, we always recommend redeeming your miles for a Business Class ticket rather than a Premium Economy ticket for better value.
This edition of Spontaneous Escapes is one of the most disappointing selections we’ve seen in a while, particularly regarding business class availability. Aside from a few Southeast Asian countries and the usual cities in China and India, there aren’t any destinations that are particularly unique or worth using your miles on.
The most worthwhile redemption from the options available is likely the one-way flight from Singapore to Johannesburg, priced at 39,550 KrisFlyer miles. We have previously flown a similar route from Singapore to Cape Town, South Africa. With a long flight duration of 10 hours and 50 minutes, you will have the opportunity to fully enjoy the Singapore Airlines Business Class experience.

How to Book a Spontaneous Escapes Rate?
- You can only book the rate through Singapore Airlines’ Mobile App or official website.
- Log in to your KrisFlyer account and check the Redeem flights box when searching for your flight.
- Select the desired flight route, depart date and class of service.
4. If a route is available on Spontaneous Escapes, it will show up as a special Promo From… rate.
5. Select that and go through the standard booking process.
What Card to Use For Fees?
When redeeming award flights, you’ll usually have to pay a small fee for taxes and tariffs. Although these typically do not go for more than S$100 for Singapore Airlines, it’ll still be good if we can optimise our spending here.

- All fares booked through the Spontaneous Escapes Rate are strictly non-changeable and cancellable unless cancelled by Singapore Airlines themselves. You’ll have to forfeit your ticket should you not be able to fly on the booked flight.

- You’ll need to have the full amount of miles needed in your KrisFlyer account at the time of booking. You cannot book part of the tickets with cash and part of it with miles.
