20% off Flight Redemptions – KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale

Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale is back for March 2026 with 20% off selected Economy and USA Premium Economy awards. While this round is more targeted than previous editions, there are still some very worthwhile deals here if you know which routes to focus on.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer has just launched its latest Global Redemption Sale promotion. This round offers a flat 20% discount on Saver award redemptions for selected Singapore Airlines Economy Class routes, as well as selected Premium Economy routes between Singapore and the USA.

We think this is still a useful promotion, but it is clearly weaker than the March 2025 version. Back then, all Singapore Airlines Economy routes were included. This time, the sale is limited to selected flights and selected destinations, so you will need to search a bit more carefully.

Compared to the September 2024 Global Redemption Sale, this is also narrower. There are no discounted Business Class awards this time, and Economy is no longer network-wide. Still, if you already have travel plans between May and November 2026, there are some decent deals worth a look.

Unlike the monthly KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotions, the travel window here is much longer and much further out. However, the trade-off remains largely the same: Promo awards are very restrictive, so you should only book if your travel dates are firm.

Key Dates of Promotion

Book from 10 March 2026 to 23 March 2026.

Travel from 1 May 2026 to 15 November 2026.

Blackout dates apply from 22 May 2026 to 15 June 2026 for all eligible routes. On top of that, many routes have additional route-specific blackout periods, so be sure to check the official Singapore Airlines promotion page before transferring miles or booking.

Economy Class

This is the biggest change versus the previous March 2025 promotion. The sale no longer applies to all Economy routes. Instead, it only covers selected destinations across South East Asia, North Asia, West Asia and Africa, South West Pacific, Europe, and the USA.

In general, we still prefer to use KrisFlyer miles for long-haul premium cabin redemptions where the value per mile is much stronger. That said, there are still some situations where redeeming Economy can make sense.

  • Large family or group trips where Business Class saver space is hard to find.
  • Peak travel periods where cash fares are expensive but the promo rate is still available.
  • Longer flights where a 20% discount actually moves the needle.

Here are some routes that we think are more interesting in this sale.

RouteMiles (one-way)
Singapore to Bali6,400
Singapore to Jakarta6,400
Singapore to Haneda20,400
Singapore to Osaka20,400
Singapore to Istanbul25,600
Singapore to Johannesburg25,600
Singapore to Manchester35,200
Singapore to Los Angeles35,200
Singapore to San Francisco35,200

The regional routes like Bali and Jakarta are fine if you need to move a larger group cheaply, but we would not burn miles there unless cash fares are high. The more interesting part of this sale is really the longer routes. Japan at 20,400 miles one-way can still be decent during busier periods, while Europe and the USA start to look more reasonable once the 20% discount kicks in.

There are also several other eligible long-haul routes on the official page, including Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Seattle, Auckland, and Sydney. Just remember that this promotion only applies to selected flight numbers, and many routes have extra blackout periods beyond the general 22 May to 15 June 2026 block.

Premium Economy Class

Premium Economy remains restricted to selected USA routes only, which is consistent with the narrower shape of this promotion.

These are the eligible Premium Economy routes and discounted one-way rates:

RouteMiles (one-way)
Singapore to Los Angeles63,200
Los Angeles to Singapore63,200
Singapore to San Francisco63,200
San Francisco to Singapore63,200
New York (Newark) to Singapore67,600
Singapore to New York (JFK)67,600

These can still be decent redemptions if you prefer the extra comfort of Premium Economy but do not want to pay the much higher mileage required for Business Class. As always, though, the usefulness depends heavily on your dates lining up with the eligible flight numbers and blackout rules.

How to Book a Global Redemption Sale Flight?

  1. You can only book the promo rate through Singapore Airlines’ website or mobile app.
  2. Log in to your KrisFlyer account.
  3. Select Redeem flights when searching for your itinerary.
  4. Search for your route, travel dates, and cabin class.
  5. If your flight is eligible, the discounted rate will appear under the Promo fare column.
  6. Select the promo fare and complete the booking as usual.

Singapore Airlines also states that waitlist redemptions are not available for this promotion, so you will need immediate confirmable award space at the time of booking.

What Card to Use For Fees?

Even when redeeming an award flight, you will still need to pay taxes and fees separately in cash. These are usually not huge on Singapore Airlines redemptions, but there is still no reason not to optimize them.

Below are some of our preferred cards to use when paying for taxes and fees on Singapore Airlines award tickets.

CardMiles per dollarWhy we like it

UOB Lady’s Card / UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card
4 mpdGood option if you have selected travel as your bonus category.
HSBC Revolution Card
HSBC Revolution
4 mpdMonthly limit of S$1500 spend, higher than other cards

DBS Woman’s World Mastercard
4 mpdStill useful for online airline charges, subject to its monthly cap.

UOB KrisFlyer Credit Card
3 mpdA straightforward option for Singapore Airlines spend if you want to keep things simple.

Some important things to note before booking:

  1. Waitlist redemption is not available for this promotion.
  2. No stopovers are allowed.
  3. Any change is strictly not permitted once booked.
  4. Cancellation is not permitted for partially unused or totally unused tickets unless Singapore Airlines cancels the flight.
  5. Tickets must be redeemed fully with KrisFlyer miles. Taxes and fees are charged separately and do not receive any discount.

Final Thoughts

The March 2026 KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale is still worth checking, but it is not as generous as the March 2025 edition. The biggest downgrade is that Economy redemptions are no longer available across the full Singapore Airlines network. Instead, you only get selected destinations and selected flight numbers.

That said, we think there is still value here if you already have fixed travel plans between May and November 2026. The strongest use cases are probably the longer Economy routes, as well as the selected USA Premium Economy flights where cash fares can be painful.

We would still generally prefer to save KrisFlyer miles for long-haul premium cabin redemptions where possible. But if you need to book Economy for a family trip, or you have specific dates in mind and spot the right Promo fare, this sale can still be decent.

Just be sure your plans are firm before booking. These Promo awards are about as inflexible as KrisFlyer gets.
