As part of its 10 million KrisFlyer member celebration, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer just launched its Global Redemption Sale promotion. This promotion offers a flat 20% discount on KrisFlyer Saver redemptions on all Singapore Airlines’ Economy Class flights and selected Premium Economy flights.
This is a slightly weaker promotion compared to the most recent Global Redemption Sale in September last year where we saw a flat 25% discount instead. With that said, if you have any upcoming travel plans for 2025, you should take a look at this promotion to see if it can benefit you.
Unlike the regular KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion that we see every month, there are fewer restrictions on this promotion. Specifically, the applicable travel dates are much longer and further out in the future.
However, similar to Spontaneous Escapes, you will not be able to cancel or modify your flight after booking. You will also not be able to add any stopovers to your itinerary.
Key Dates of Promotion
Book from 7th March 2025 until 23 March 2025.
Travel between 1st May to 15th November 2025.
Economy Class
All economy-class seats on flights operated by Singapore Airlines are eligible for this promotion. There are some blackout dates for each route, so be sure to check Singapore Airlines’s promotion page for the specific route you’re interested in.
In general, we aim to use our KrisFlyer miles on longer-haul business-class flights to maximize the value (and comfort) that we get out of them. However, there can be use cases where it makes sense to redeem economy flights instead.
- Large travel groups. It can be a lot more difficult to redeem business class flights for a large travel group as compared to economy flights.
- When cash prices are high. Some popular or exotic routes have very high cash prices, but decent redemption costs.
Here are some routes that we think you can get outsized value from.
| Route | Points |
|---|---|
| Singapore to Istanbul | 23,200 |
| Singapore to Cape Town | 23,200 |
| Singapore to Auckland | 30,500 |
| Singapore to Christchurch | 30,500 |
| Singapore to Paris | 33,600 |
| Singapore to London | 33,600 |
| Singapore to Milan | 33,600 |
| Singapore to Barcelona | 33,600 |
| Singapore to Amsterdam | 33,600 |
| Singapore to New York | 35,200 |
Do take note that you’ll still have to pay a nominal amount of cash for fees and taxes (usually goes for ~$50 per trip), so you should factor that in when doing cost calculations.
Premium Economy Class
Redemption for Premium Economy seats is a lot more restricted. They are only available on select routes operated by Singapore Airlines. Compared to the previous Global Redemption Sale, the routes are only limited to certain cities in the US.
These routes can still be decent redemptions considering the usual cash prices.
| Route | Points |
|---|---|
| Singapore to San Francisco | 60,000 |
| San Francisco to Singapore | 60,000 |
| Singapore to New York (JFK) | 64,400 |
| New York (Newark) to Singapore | 64,400 |
How to Book a Global Redemption Sale Flight?
- You can only book the rate through Singapore Airlines’ Mobile App or official website.
- Log in to your KrisFlyer account and check the Redeem flights box when searching for your flight.
- Select the desired flight route, depart date and class of service.

4. If a route is available in the promotion, it will show up as a special Promo From… rate.

5. Select that and go through the standard booking process.
What Card to Use For Fees?
When redeeming award flights, you’ll usually have to pay a small fee for taxes and tariffs. Although these typically do not go for more than S$100 for Singapore Airlines, it’ll still be good if we can optimise our spending here.
Below are some of our favourite credit cards to use to pay for taxes and fees when redeeming award flights on Singapore Airlines.
| Card | Miles Per Dollar (mpd) | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | UOB Lady’s / UOB Lady’s Solitaire (travel category selected) | 4 | Review | Apply |

- All fares booked through the Promotion Rate are strictly non-changeable and cancellable unless cancelled by Singapore Airlines themselves. You’ll have to forfeit your ticket should you not be able to fly on the booked flight.
- You can only book the rates through Singapore Airlines’ Mobile App or website.
- You’ll need to have the full amount of miles needed in your KrisFlyer account at the time of booking. You cannot book part of the tickets with cash and part of it with miles.
Final Thoughts
The latest KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale is a pleasant surprise for all KrisFlyer members! If you have been earning and stockpiling your KrisFlyer miles, this can be a good time to use them.
Although it only features Economy Class seats and a very select set of Premium Economy routes, there can be various use cases where these redemptions make more sense to you. In addition, since the promotion applies to all routes on Singapore Airline’s network, you can even redeem for routes that are almost impossible to redeem for in Business Class and get great value out of it.
Some of the routes we’re personally excited about are the New Zealand routes in winter for the Ski Season (July / August) which typically goes for thousands of dollars round trip and the European routes in summer!
